"The Eisenhower Trophy Engraving. / Humana Challenge engraving
Winner Bill Haas with Former President Bill Clinton holding the Humana Challenge Trophy!
Couple months ago I had the pleasure of engraving
The Humana Challenge trophy. I did not know much about the trophy and took it in like most of my commissions. I was able to engrave the name of the winner #Bill Haas on the tiny hard to reach area of the trophy. The Humana Challenge is organized by Desert Classic Charities and is located in Palm Desert CA. Since its inception in the 1960, Desert Classic charities the charitable organization that organizes the event have contributed more than 56 million to the Eisenhower medical center. http://news.yahoo.com/bill-haas-pulls-away-win-humana-challenge-000415982--spt.html They were very happy with the trophy and asked me to engrave the Eisenhower Trophy. I accepted and a week later the trophy arrived at my studio and I was amazed at the size of the trophy! I realized then that this Trophy was here before I was born and how cool it was that here I was 55 years later engraving on it! Many Presidents have made trek to Coachella Valley for Golf, including Dwight Eisenhower. Presidential golf started in the desert when Dwight Eisenhower was president, and it has continued to today with both Obama and Bill Clinton.
Engraving a trophy insitu is always a challenge as its hard to reach the area to easily and you have to figure out how to maneuver your way. I was amazed at myself when I completed the trophy. It was simply stunning.
