Summer Shows, summer happenings!

Summer time is definitely my busiest time of the year..based on the last couple years I thought it was the holiday season. The holiday season which is just round the corner is just a different kind of busy. Art A Fair Laguna beach is still going on till the end of August and my booth number is B23.

Just completed a new bowl as well from Orrefors Kosta Boda. It's called the wave bowl. I engraved flamingos on it taking off on migration..

"The Lessor Flamingo" 

HandEngraved on a Wave  bowl made of the purest crystal  with undulating curves that symbolize the beauty and strength of the ocean. This was just the perfect piece of glass to emulate this..

Thousands of flamingos turn a lake pink as they flock together in search of algae to eat and fill the air with their honking...lake Bogoria, Kenya 

'If you go at the right time you'll see the shoreline of Kenya's lakes turn bright pink as they're filled with millions of flamingos!  

The bowl is currently available at #Art A Fair! 

Also just completed are two paperweights from Baccarat! 

One has Dragonflies and the other butterflies and both pieces are stunning!

Gucci Bamboo Launch Engraving Event

 Gucci Bamboo 

Gucci launched Bamboo, a new woody floral fragrance for women. Bamboo was inspired by the brand's Bamboo bags (introduced in 1947) and will be fronted by actress Gal Gadot 

Mirroring the Gucci woman's confident persona, the fragrance is soft and intense all at the same time. I was honored to engrave the new bottles at thier launch party at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. The event was quite successful and everyone loved the new scent from Gucci. A fragrance designed for the ultra modern Gucci woman, Gucci Bamboo is powerful yet feminine; a blend of exotic florals with deep woody notes including bergamot, Casablanca Lily ylang ylang extra-comoros-base notes of sandalwood. I like classic older scents but I must say I was completely drawn to thier new fragrance.  The packaging is great and all the stores I went to offered a beautiful small lotion as a gift with with purchase. Gucci signature bamboo design is seen in the top of the fragrance. 

I engraved quite a number of bottles and every client was quite pleased! Always great to see happy faces..

Macy's South Coast Plaza Engraving Event. Macy's South Coast Plaza had a great display and the sales associate went far and beyond in welcoming clients and informing them about the new fragrance! Such a pleasure working at the store, great team! 

Macy's West Covina had a similar kind of display and the sales team were far and beyond and Patty brought in real Bamboo! See below..also Macy's entrance, West Covina 

 

All in all it was a successful weekend with sales Beyond expections! Engraving does add value to customers as they are able to personalize and make the bottles one Of a kind. We all love personalization.

Engraving Sterling Silver Napkin Rings..

This year has been the best year so far since I ventured out as an artist. Basically self employment. Life as an artist is quite tricky. You come across people who don't consider you as an artist and that's okay! I've come to appreciate the fact. It's also hard for Family and close friends to consider you as an artist. As an artist I appreciate doctors, teachers, drivers as everyone is skilled in their line of work. 

Big Thank you to Everyone of you who stops and drops in a kind line or two every now and then. I appreciate it very much and it inspires me more to do my best.

The best part for me as an artist is working with all the wonderful people that 
I've met this last few years. I recently did a set of sterling silver napkin rings and the client had tried in vain to locate an engraver but was unable to. When the surface area is just to small to fit in a laser machine most companies will not engrave the pieces for you. They will normally refer you to a #HandEngraver. That's where I come in. I was able to engrave the rings for her with no problems at all. She wanted baby names and dates..she was quite pleased with the outcome! You can see the review below. The one was quite small, but she was able to get the job done. The work that she did is just beautiful and we are very happy with the outcome. We would definitely recommend her.

Life happens when...

Life happens when we are busy making plans. It has a way of stopping you right in your tracks when you thought things were going fantastic! I was recently commissioned to engrave two Vases with couple of ideas of how the client wanted it to look like. The client had lost a life long friend of his. The vase was going to be a gift for the widow and his mom. I picked a vase from Kosta Boda designed by Goran Warf. I decided to engrave the Eulogy on one side on the vase and on the front I engraved his name, dates and a short phrase. As I was engraving this vase I was really touched by the Eulogy and the words were just right. I have lost both my parents in the last few years so it was quite hard engraving each word while trying to hold out on crying!

I added white doves as the client had told me they released white doves at the remembrance.
